Biography

Julius Funke-Kaiser studied law at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and at the University of Hull in England (semester abroad). He completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, with stations at RWE and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, among others. Julius Funke-Kaiser has already worked as a research assistant and legal trainee at supra-regional law firms, specialising in energy law. He was admitted to the bar in 2024. As part of a six-month secondment, he supported the HanseWerk Group in contract drafting, particularly in the area of project development.

Julius Funke-Kaiser is co-author of Beck's online commentary on the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) by Greb/Boewe/Sieberg (eds.) and explains provisions of the Energy Financing Act (EnFG) therein.
