Philipp Schmacks advises on all issues relating to energy law, with a particular focus on grid connection regulation and renewable energies. Another key area of his expertise is public commercial law.
Philipp Schmacks studied law at the University of Cologne and at Uppsala University in Sweden as part of a year abroad program. His studies focused on public law. Subsequently, he worked as a research assistant at Oppenhoff in the ‘Public Law / Regulatory’ practice group. He completed his legal clerkship in the Cologne Higher Regional Court district, which comprised stages at, among others, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection, and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and at LEITFELD. He has been admitted to the bar since 2026.
